Phase out of NeuroCheck 5.1.
NeuroCheck 5.1 was introduced in 2002 as a platform for industrial image processing and has remained highly successful until today. Since its introduction, NeuroCheck’s application department alone has implemented more than 1,500 visual inspection systems using NeuroCheck 5.1. Long product life cycles, excellent support and service during the entire product life cycle were an important characteristic of the first image processing solutions, and today they are more than ever the cornerstones of our system solutions. Motivated by this commitment and the continuous change in technology over the past 17 years, we have continued to develop version 5.1 further. While at first images were captured using frame grabbers and analogue cameras, these were replaced later on by digital cameras with CCD image sensors initially using the FireWire interface and finally the Gigabit Ethernet interface.
With the discontinuation of CCD cameras on the one hand and the end of support and sale of Windows 7 on the other, the continuous further development of the 32-bit software NeuroCheck 5.1 originally designed for Windows XP has reached its end. Consequently, long-term supply with spare parts cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, we are unable to offer the support you have come to expect of us any longer. Thus, as of July 2019 no more duplicates of image processing systems based on NeuroCheck 5.1 are available.
What does phase out mean for existing systems?
Our support service for existing systems remains the same. However, we strongly recommend disconnecting inspection systems from company networks and the Internet at the end of extended support for Windows 7 SP1 in January 2020 if this hasn’t already been done. Furthermore, depending on the calculated remaining life, a supply of spare parts should be stocked.
Is there an alternative?
NeuroCheck 6.2 for Windows 10 is the modern, high-performance successor offering support of up-to-date technologies such as 64-bit multi-core processors, high-resolution 2-D cameras with CMOS sensors, 3-D sensors, databases, parallel instances, complex neural networks, and robot-guided inspections.
Our experts will be happy to advise you on migrating to future-proof inspection systems based on NeuroCheck 6.2 and up-to-date cameras. If you have any questions or if you would like to talk to us personally, do not hesitate to contact us by phone +49 7146 8956-0 or by e-mail sales@neurocheck.com.
